1.) SCREEN PRINTING — TRIED AND TRUE
Screen
printing involves creating a stencil (printers call this a "screen"),
and then using that stencil to apply layers of ink on the printing surface.
Each colour is applied using a different stencil, one at a time, combined to
achieve the final look. Screen printing is the best option for designs that require
a high level of vibrancy, when printing on dark shirts, or specialty products.
The ink in screen printing is applied thicker than digital printing, which
results in brighter colours even on darker shirts.
Our
classic, expertly-handled, proven screen printing method accounts for most of
the SHIRTS we make at ART CYCLE GLOBAL ENTERPRISE. And with
so many of our t-shirts produced through screen printing, you better believe
we've got this process down.
The
fact that these products are printed by hand also allows for unique products
like water bottles, apparels and mugs, as the printer can manually handle
curved or uneven surfaces. The minimum order quantity on screen-printed items
is due to the extra material and preparation time associated with this printing
method.
2.) DIGITAL PRINTING — THE WAY OF THE FUTURE
Digital
printing is the state-of-the-art process we use for items that require high
amounts of detail as well as orders of a smaller quantity. Because our DIGITAL PRINTER does not use screens,
we can print a shirt with much greater detail than traditional screen printing
can provide. And since there is no physical set-up, your design can be
processed and printed even in small quantities — as few as one shirt at a time!
Digital
printing is not a heat transfer or appliqué. With digital printing, we take
your design straight from the computer and print it directly onto your garment.
We've got this method down to an art form, which means that even photographic
images can be reproduced in all their glorious detail.
